Calgary 2018 Population Statistics & Information
Calgary population growth consists of natural increases and net migration. The amount of new migrants has a strong influence on housing demand. Numbers for Calgary are updated on a yearly basis. Typically, forecast updates are performed two to three times a year.
Data used includes info supplied by the City of Calgary, Stats Canada & the Conference Board of Canada. The City of Calgary’s yearly numbers are based on the census data collected in the month of April. Statistics Canada conducts a census every five years. These provide yearly population estimates in non-census years. Yearly population estimates are as of July 1 of that calendar year.
The Conference Board of Canada compiles information provided by Stats Canada and creates yearly estimates and forecasts for Calgary CMA.
